David Karp is a Canadian journalist and economist. He is currently based in Victoria, British Columbia, where he is a reporter with the Victoria Times Colonist.

David’s past journalism positions include editor-in-chief of the Martlet, reporter with the Vancouver Sun and Western Bureau Chief with Canadian University Press, and columnist with the Times Colonist.

David holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Victoria and will receive an M.A. in economic policy from McMaster University in November. His primary interests are in applied areas such as labour economics, public economics, experimental economics and sports economics.

In his spare time, David enjoys playing soccer, piano, Scrabble and curling, as well as spending time with his girlfriend Laura.
